The symbol for the Indian rupee is an allusion for Indian culture. The two parallel horizontal stripes at the top of the emblem, which combines the Devanagari &#8220;Ra&#8221; and the Roman capital &#8220;R,&#8221; stand for the national flag and the &#8220;equal to&#8221; sign, respectively.
