Currently, the project provides basic health services to more than half of the population. There are 2,400 health facilities open across the country, including 96 fully equipped hospitals. Many parts of the country are mountainous and inaccessible, making it difficult for people to access health services. Due to difficult geographical conditions, many people are unable to access health services, especially in rural areas. These challanges worsen the health system in Afghanistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Access_in_remote_areas\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Access in remote areas<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b>Hard-to-reach locations:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Many villages do not have health facilities, forcing people to travel long distances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Roads:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Poor roads and weather conditions make access to health services even more difficult.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Role_of_community_health_workers\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Role of community health workers<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.org\/?utm_source=saralstudy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">UNICEF<\/a> has trained 32,000 community health workers, who deliver health services in remote areas. Many people do not understand the importance of health services and hence they are not able to avail the necessary services. Community health workers are constantly working to overcome this lack, so that people can understand the importance of health services.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Measures_to_Raise_Awareness\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Measures to Raise Awareness<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b>Education Programmes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Community health workers conduct health education programmes in local communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Information Distribution:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Pamphlets and brochures are distributed to provide information about health services.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Impact_of_the_Health_Project\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Impact of the Health Project<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UNICEF&#8217;s health project has played a vital role in improving health services in Afghanistan. UNICEF\u2019s efforts to prevent the collapse of the health system in Afghanistan are not only helping to handle the current crisis, but are also taking important steps towards strengthening health services in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conclusion<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UNICEF and its partners have played a vital role in maintaining Afghanistan&#8217;s health system.
