What is the Full Form of JEE?

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a highly competitive national-level entrance exam in India that is conducted for admission to various prestigious engineering and technology institutes across the country. The exam is divided into two parts: JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

JEE Main

JEE Main is the first stage of the JEE exam and is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is a computer-based test that evaluates a candidate's knowledge and problem-solving skills in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The JEE Main exam is held twice a year, and the best score is considered for admission.

JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is the second stage of the JEE exam and is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It is a more challenging and comprehensive exam that tests a candidate's in-depth understanding of the subjects. The JEE Advanced exam is held once a year, and it is the gateway to admission into the prestigious IITs and other top-ranking engineering colleges in India.

Eligibility and Application Process

To be eligible for the JEE exam, candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects. The application process for JEE involves online registration, payment of the exam fee, and submission of the application form within the specified deadlines.

Counseling and Admission

After the successful completion of the JEE exam, candidates are shortlisted based on their performance. The counseling process, known as Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) and Centralized Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), is then conducted to allocate seats to the candidates in various engineering colleges and institutes across the country.
