What is the Full Form of NDA?

NDA stands for the National Defence Academy. It is the joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services—the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force—train together before they go on to respective service academies for further pre-commission training.

Significance of NDA

NDA is the premier institute that prepares young individuals to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces. It instills discipline, leadership, and physical fitness among the cadets.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for NDA, candidates must:

Be unmarried male candidates.
Have passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent for Army Wing; and for Air Force and Naval Wings, candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics in 10+2.
Be aged between 16.5 to 19.5 years.

Admission Process

The admission process includes a written examination conducted by UPSC, followed by an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB). The selection process is rigorous and aims to test the candidate's academic, physical, and psychological fitness.
