(a) ADA deficiency is caused due to the deficiency of adenosine deaminase enzyme which arises due to deletion of DNA segment that code for ADA enzyme. Immune system is affected by ADA deficiency.
(b) The vector used for transferring ADA-DNA into the recipient cells in humans is a disarmed viral vector and the recipient cells are lymphocytes.
