MOMA Scholarship 2020-21: Minority Scholarship, Application Process, Eligibility

MOMA scholarships are minority scholarships by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Moma Scholarship Scheme is responsible for the upliftment of the minority students. The winning students will get the reward of Rs. 20,000 per annum. The Government distributes 30 lacs scholarship for pre-matric, 5 lacs for post-matric, and 60,000 for merit-cum-means scholarship.

Eligibility: Who can apply for the MOMA scholarship?

Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

1. Candidate must be a student of class 1st to 10th.

2. Students must have scored have at least 50% marks in the previous final exam.

The family income should be less than 1 lac per annum.

Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities

1. Students of class 11th and 12th can apply.

2. Students who have taken admission in technical and vocational courses in ITI/Industrial Training Centres affiliated with NCVT (at class 11 & 12 levels) can also apply.

3. Students who are pursuing Polytechnics and other courses are also eligible to apply.

4. Students must have scored at least 50% marks in the previous final exam.

The annual family income must not be more than INR 2 Lacs.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship

1. Students who have taken admission in technical/professional courses at the graduate or postgraduate level are eligible to apply.

2. Students must have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final exam.

The family income must not exceed INR 2.5 lacs. Per annum.

Benefits of Scholarship

MOMA Scholarship scheme is great support for minority students who are unable to pursue their dreams due to financial issues. This scholarship helps them financially so that they can be uplifted from their current status.

Application Process

  • Register on the NSP portal.
  • Enter the information like educational qualifications, Aadhaar Number, School/College Enrolment Number, Bank details, and the State Domicile, etc.
  • The applicants’ application ID will be generated to be used as a login ID in the NSP portal.
  • Select the relevant scholarship category.
  • Carefully fill in the details asked in the form.
  • Upload the Documents and submit the form.

MOMA Scholarships – Terms & Conditions

  • 30% of the scholarships are reserved for the girl students.
  • In the case of limited female candidates, the scholarship will be transferred to the male candidates.
  • Only 2 students from a family will receive the scholarship.
  • The attendance of the students in the class should be regular.
  • If any case of indiscipline is reported, the scholarship will be canceled.
  • The scholarship will be canceled if any of the information in the application form is found incorrect.
  • The scholarship amount will be sent directly to the student’s account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

  • The student continues to receive the scholarship until the course is finished.
  • The annual amount will be given in lum-sum.

Ans. The students who find themselves eligible for any of the MOMA scholarships can apply for them online through the National Scholarship Portal from August to November. The candidates have to register on the portal and then log in to proceed with the application procedure.
