CBSE Board Exam: Apply for Marks Verification, Re-valuation, Photocopy of Answer Book by 21 July 2020

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released Marks Verification, Copy of Assessed Answer Book and Re-Evaluation Program, giving great relief to students dissatisfied with low marks in board examination. Applications can be applied for Marks verification from July 17 to 21, with Rs 500 per subject. Applications can be applied to get a copy of the evaluated answer book by 5 pm on August 1 and 2 with Rs 700 per copy. On the other hand, for re-evaluation, online application will be made at the rate of Rs 100 per question till 6 pm on August 6 and 7.

These are the steps and the process of application:

The whole process is online. Re-checking and re-valuation are a three-stage process. This includes re-toting, application for photocopying of answer sheet and revaluation of answer sheet. Students first have to apply for re-toting and then for photocopying. This is then applied to re evaluate specific questions. The board has made separate phases for this.

  • Step One: Re-totalling – Students will have to apply for the mark’s verification. Under this, CBSE will only check the answer sheets for total errors and even if a question is not checked by the teacher, the student will have to pay the fee prescribed by the CBSE. Students can apply for ret-totalling of all subjects if they wish. In addition, the new amendment will be considered final in the event of any change.
  • Step Two: Application for Photocopy of Answer Book – If the students are not satisfied with the re-totalling also, then they can apply for the photocopy of their answer book by adopting the second step. By getting a copy of the answer sheet (in image form) online, students can check their answers and match them with the marking scheme of CBSE. It is important to know here that before this you have to apply for re-checking.
  • Step Three: Re-Valuation, the last step is revaluation: The student is confident that if a specific question has been incorrectly checked, he can apply for reevaluation. Students may apply for revalidation only for subjects for which they have requested photocopies. The revaluation process will be for specific questions only and not for the entire paper. Students will be charged based on the number of questions.

Fees to be paid

CBSE rules that before the application, the fee will be deposited online. In such a situation, the mistake may have been made from the student level, teacher or board level, but the student will have to pay for it. This thing is also surprising to the students and parents.

The matter of copying two rupees

Advocate Rajveer Singh says that during the hearing of a case in October 2018, the Supreme Court had instructed the CBSE that the copy of the answer book is like a right to information, so its fee should be like two rupees per copy according to ITE.

CBSE Decision

One of the CBSE’s co-ordinator says that the entire process of re-checking, photocopying of copy and re-valuation has been decided from the board level. The fee has also been fixed by CBSE, which will be paid by all.
