Comment on the similarity between the wing of a cockroach and the wing of a bird. What do you infer from the above, with reference to evolution?
Answer
Wings of a cockroach and a bird have the same functions of aiding in flying but differ in their structural anatomy. Thus these are analogous organs and the cockroach and the birds are analogs of each other that do not share a common ancestor and hence indicate convergent evolution.
