(a) Signals for parturition originate from the fully developed foetus and the placenta involving a complex neuroendocrine mechanism. This is also called foetal ejection reflex.
 
(b) Colostrum is a yellowish fluid or milk produced in the body of mother during few days of lactation and contains several antibodies of IgA type which is essential for developing immunity in the new born child.
