Bill Bryson declared that he was easily confused. when he went looking for the lavatory in a cinema he ended up standing in an alley on the wrong side of the self-locking door. He had a habit of returning to hotel desks two or three times a day and by asking what his room number was. That's why he said that he was easily confused.

Q2 What happens when the zip on his carry-on bag gives way?
    Ans:

The side of the bag was open and everything that was within the bag gave way. These things includes newspaper cuttings and other loose papers, a 14- ounce tin of pipe tobacco, magazines, passport English money and films.

Q3 Why is his finger bleeding? What is his wife’s reaction?

His finger was bleeding from the deep cut because of the zip of the bag when he was trying to open. His wife could not believe by looking at him with an expression of wonder that he did all this for a living.

Q4 How does Bill Bryson end up in a “crash position” in the aircraft?
    Ans:

Once while travelling in an aeroplane, he bent over to tie his shoe lace and at the same time someone who was seating in the front seat pushed back into full recline. Then he ended up in the crash position. He had to claw at the leg of the man sitting next to him in order to free himself from the tangle.

Q5 Why are his teeth and gums navy blue?
    Ans:

    Ans:

The answer is no, bill could never manage to suave in his ways. He would stand up from a dinner table without looking as if he had just experienced an extraordinarily localized seismic event. He would get in a car and close the door by leaving fourteen inches of coat outside. He would wear light-coloured trousers by discovering at the end of the day that he had sat several times on chewing gum, ice cream, cough syrup and motor oil. He tired to be suave, but it was not to be.

Q7 Why do you think Bill Bryson’s wife says to the children, “Take the lids off the food for Daddy”?
    Ans:

Bill had himself taken off the lid, it would have flown away to some part of the plane and the food might have spilled all over the place. Therefore bryson’s wife asked her children to taken the lids off of the food.

Q8 What is the significance of the title?
    Ans:

The title the accidental tourist puts the stress on accidental nature of bill Bryson who was a frequent flyer. He travelled a lot to the world's different parts. He always met some kind of an accident on the way during the aeroplane. Once he bent over to tie his shoe lace and someone was sitting on the seat ahead of him, he threw his seat back into full scratch and the leg of the man sitting next to him to get himself freed. On another incident, he threw a soft drink onto the lap who was sitting besides him. The lady got very annoyed with him, then the flight attendant cleaned up all the mess and brought him another drink. He was always prone to accidents. He always used to forgot his room number and was used to going to the hotel desk to enquire about it. He was carless that when the food was delivered on planes, his wife asked children to take the lids off the fool for him to avoid any kind of accident. While travelling alone, he did not eat, drink or tie his shoelaces. Still he travelled a lot but was prone to accident.
