Getting to know GMAT

Graduate Management Test also known as GMAT for short is popular and widely recognized as MBA admission test all over the world. Currently, GMAT is a test accepted for getting admission in a variety of educational institutions all over the world.

1. What’s GMAT?

GMAT is a computer adaptive test divided into three main sections which include quantitative, verbal, and analytical reasoning. Apart from these sections, there is one analytical writing assessment test abbreviated as AWA. Majority of business schools demand their MBA aspirants to submit their GMAT scores in order to get admission. More than 1500 universities in 83 countries accept GMAT scores.

2. Format of GMAT

The format of GMAT is quite simple consisting of four time divisions where the quantitative section has a total 37 questions with a time limit of 75 minutes. Verbal section consists of 41 questions for 75 minutes and the newly introduced reasoning section has 12 questions with 30 minutes provided for answers. Finally the AWA, and for that, candidates are offered a total 30 minutes to answer.

3. Why GMAT?

4. How to prepare for GMAT?

  • The only way to crack GMAT is via rigorous practice and dedication. Don’t take it lightly like some college exam where you studying all night and achieved high score like 800. 
  • The best and recommended way of preparing is to start early about three months ago. If you dedicatedly study for three months then you will certainly achieve 700+ in your GMAT. 
  • Pick up the right materials and familiarize yourself with the format. Take sample tests and find your weakness. GMAT consists of different types of questions so learn and practice all tricks. Just answering the question is not enough, don’t forget to manage timings.
