Making the right choice: GRE or GMAT

For all those students who aspire to study abroad always face a confusion between whether to sit for GMAT or GRE as both of them are equally reputed entrance examinations that are acceptable in foreign universities worldwide. Now since we are talking about this confusion it’s very important for a student to make the correct choice, as his/her future depends on it.

Difference between GRE and GMAT

Considering various factors like test format, graduate schools perceptions, examination advantages, method of preparation, scoring etc. both GRE and GMAT are completely different.

From the name of these examinations itself one can get a clear perspective of what the examination is all about. GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is a standardized test that assesses the students’ skills in verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking for admissions in streams of science, medicine, literature etc. (except Law programs). On the other hand GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is used to predict how eminent the student is for taking admission in a management program i.e. this test is especially targeted for admission in management courses worldwide.

Disadvantages of GRE and GMAT

Both of these examinations are designed for students who have English as their native language, so for students who belong to a non-English speaking country these examinations become an immediate disadvantage, especially in verbal sections. Although both the examinations have been developed scientifically to judge various skills of the students, they do have certain loopholes. In both the exams students’ skills in verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking are measured but however GMAT fails to test student’s knowledge related to business, subjective qualities, creativity and interpersonal skills while on the other hand GRE requires wider knowledge in all its sections for students belonging to non-English speaking nations.

Advantage of GMAT over GRE

For all those aspirants who don’t have English as their native language it’s advisable to sit for GMAT instead of GRE because doing so would give them an upper hand in scoring high in GMAT. In recent times various renowned worldwide Business schools are offering admissions to students from diverse backgrounds and in case you belong to one of those countries that have recently joined the European Union, you might have a higher chance of securing a seat. Moreover if an institution finds an applicant to be a deserving candidate they might even consider one’s low GMAT score too but the same doesn’t apply to GRE applicants. Well all of these have been possible due to the only reason that students nowadays prefer mostly to join courses in management, finance or accounting in comparison to other streams that come under GRE.

Difference in format

Although both of these examinations have similar sections to judge the student’s skills, they do have a different style of approach. While GRE requires a candidate to argue, in GMAT the candidates analyze on what has already been argued. The approach for GRE is kind of abstract while that for GMAT is more analytical.

How To Write Static Content

Content writing is not a piece of cake. A writer or an organization has to follow a set of rules to ensure that their work doesn’t end up in dumps. Of all the various ways you make your website, your content will be either static or dynamic. As the name states, Static Content stands for any content that can’t be changed. This content is published to regular files and is handled with the easiest methods available to the servers. It is usually cached in your computer whenever you first visit the page and stays there until the time the page has actually changed/modified. This is the reason why a website takes longer to load when you have visited it the very first time so that any more future accesses require less processing time.

What’s a static webpage?

A webpage consisting of static content is referred to as the static webpage that simply passes to a requesting browser without any changes i.e. it displays the same information for all users, from all contexts. These types of pages are generally HTML pages that are stored as files and made available over the HTTP. Moreover the static content is never a part of a section or category and is completely incapable to be a part of them either. These content can only be managed i.e. created, edited or deleted using the Static Content Manager.

In loosened terms a standard HTML page is a static webpage consisting of static content. So, one can easily tell if a page is static or dynamic by just looking at the page’s file extension.

Some of the advantages of the static content are as follows:

  • It’s considered to be the fastest and an effective method to deliver contents.
  • It’s more secure because of the reason that no coding or databases are required to execute or access this content respectively.
  • The contents are addressed using simple and clean URLs.
  • Using such content boosts performance as the web caching systems are more wisely used.

Every type of web server supports this kind of content. Ways to write static content.

Content has to be structured in a well systematic manner to ensure that it manages to stay unaffected by dynamic content updates of other businesses. Several ways can be followed for the same.

  1. Use a title that clearly refers to the topic of content writing. Instead of going creative, opt for something that is eye-catchy, briefly descriptive of the elucidated content.
  2. The article should be divided into paragraphs, each with vital information about the topic. For instance, if you are writing about the best countries to visit- start with a paragraph on different countries and why the list is created. Then divided the article into several sub headers or pointers.
  3. Static content should not have derogatory or abusive remarks as it directly affects the image of the organization.
  4. In case static content is in a blog post, make sure that it is linked with a website that provides services related to the post.
  5. Republishing a static webpage requires more time, hence spelling mistakes; typos and grammar errors must be avoided at all costs.

So whatever the requirement is, one has to tactfully balance the dynamic as well as the static content writing to increase the performance of their website.

After sales services Secret behind Computers Upkeep

In today’s world, computers have become a part and parcel of our lifestyle. Without it we will probably fail to achieve a major part of our day-to-day work. Now, to maximize the working capabilities of computer users and remain devoid of any computer related problems it is quite essential to have a nice hold on reliable computer services.

Computer Services – Life Insurance for Computer

Nowadays, computer services have become like life insurance for computers. Whenever one buys a computer, a default service care plan is provided by the computer brands itself. Apart from that one might find hundreds and thousands of other computer service agencies in and around who are ready to provide you with the best of their service 24×7. So it is advisable to have one of these services in hand so that whenever a trouble pops up you have a technician to take care of that immediately.

Several benefits of receiving computer services:

1. Low cost

Although every brand new computer comes with a 1-2 years service care warranty people get reluctant to renew those services after the given point of time considering the fact that it might not be necessary or is a bit too costly. But the thing one should too consider is the fact that in case the computer somehow goes corrupt, which is quite obvious to happen, it may cost more to get it cured than to renew the services or to hire a professional computer service agency. Now if you are thinking how is that going to be more economical than getting your device cured, the answer is quite simple. All these agencies whether it be local or branded have larger amounts of personnel, resources and a greater economy of scale. So when you hire their services, it’s like putting an amount in a fixed deposit. So if your computer goes wrong in that warranty period they cure it without charge and if it stays absolutely fine, the amount paid by you turns into a complete profit for them. In this way they have a 3:1 ratio where they do or don’t have to provide services. Hence it becomes beneficial for both the customer and the company.

2. More convenience

Talking about convenience, wouldn’t it be more feasible to have a professional visit your place and cure your computer rather than you hovering from one place to the other to get your device cured? Hiring one of these dedicated computer service agencies keeps you just a phone call away from making these personnel taking care of your computer.

3. High quality computer systems

One thing to always look for while hiring one of these highly efficient computer service agencies is to consider various factors such as their experience, availability and quality of solutions they provide. The easiest of these options is to hire services from the same brand as that of your computer, since in that case all you would have to do it’s to renew your warranties. Moreover having the same brand means that whenever there is some kind of problem in the component of your computer, the brand would immediately replace that component with an original one rather than temporarily curing it.

Making the most of Mock tests

After all the hard work and effort one puts in for preparing for a test or an entrance examination, everything comes down to how you perform in the under pressure situation of the examination hall. Well the easiest way to check your performance abilities is take several mock tests, which gives a proper estimate of your overall performance.

What are Mock Tests?

Mock tests are like sample question papers of the kind of test you are going to sit for. These test papers could be based on the current syllabus of the examination you are sitting for. There several things that one require to follow before he/she starts taking the mock tests, which are as follows:

  1. Complete knowledge of your syllabus
  2. Thorough preparation
  3. Definite idea of the test pattern
  4. The strategy to follow during your examination
  5. Taking the mock tests seriously

How to make the most of these tests

The first of the four points mentioned above come as a natural instinct to most of the students because of the fact that they are the major tools without which they can’t perform efficiently in the examination. But the point that gives you the boost or rather say the advantage to perform better in your examination is the mock test. The student is strictly required to take the mock tests in a serious manner like the way they are planning or supposed to perform in an examination.

Preparing for mock test

There are several patterns for taking these mock tests, but the most commonly used one is the 3-step mock test pattern that enables the person to judge his/her skills in 3 steps, thereby ensuring a 100% exam compatibility. The time duration for following this pattern however varied from student to student i.e. it can be taken in a time period of three months or 3 weeks as per the capability of the student.

How does this strategy come into play?

In this strategy the students after the full completion of the syllabus takes the first set of mock tests (the number of tests depends upon the requirement of the student), the result of which can be judged by the student or the concerned tutor. Following the result the student again prepares/revises the whole syllabus and sits for the 2nd round of mock tests and the same process follows for one more time.

Customize the pattern

Well this can be considered as a standard pattern, which is of course modified as per the requirement and the capability of the student i.e. if the student is studious enough to score consistently in the 2nd round he/she can skip the 3rd step, but in case the student is bit weak in studies a 4th round can too be introduced in the loop to increase the performance skills. The basic idea that works for these mock tests is that the more you practice the better you will be able to perform in your test. This rule is applicable in every field of life and it actually works.

So what are you waiting for? Start Preparing for your exam or rather your mock test.
