Development Studies is the studying and understanding the issues concerning the developing nations of the world. The streams of study are area studies, social policy, demography, development theory, development geography, development economics, development management, development anthropology, geography, economic history, sociology, social work, political history, politics, international relations, philosophy and ethics, human security, women’s studies, demographics, ecology, migration studies, and pedagogy.

Nanotechnology is predicted to be of great value in creating applications and devices in electronics, medicine, engineering and technology, and energy.

Involved with the management, administration and organization of a healthcare organization or institution. Healthcare managers are the ones who dispense order, organization, and leadership services. They seek to improve the quality of healthcare to patients, their relatives and kin, and also of the organization thus. They have to ensure that the particular institution has a strong foundation – medical, social, financial, and organizational. It is about setting an order, meeting demands related to the managerial level, and efficient administration.
These professionals are in much demand in hospitals, health centers, hospital networks, healthcare systems, consulting firms, clinics, nursing homes, healthcare insurance organizations, healthcare associations, mental health organizations, physician practices, rehabilitation centers, public health departments, nursing facilities, universities, research institutions. There is a demand for them in the defense forces as well.

It includes the designing and manufacturing of every embellishment other than apparel, like shoes, bags, belts, watches, jewelry. Though not known as a separate category, it has gained eminence because of the entertainment industry primarily and socialite circles.

This is a three-year program, which requires science in plus two with physics, chemistry and biology or mathematics. What used to be a natural process with no consultation required, has become essential. Malnourishment and undernourishment are common. As illness has gone up, so has the need to prescribe diet specific to every disease. Dieticians are employed by hospitals, health centers, big companies, even some schools, and colleges. Private practice is also a good option.
Sports Medicine
Sports Medicine, an interdisciplinary branch of medicine, focuses on the injuries sustained during a sports activity or strenuous exercise, and how to cure them. A doctor should have knowledge about the injuries that can occur, the vulnerable points in a sports person’s body, the most targeted areas of injury in a particular sport, and the ways of recuperation and recovery. It involves taking and suggesting preventive measures for injury, performance enhancement, and bringing the sportsperson back to the pavilion.
To be a Sports Doctor, you first need an MBBS degree. After that, you have to enroll for a two-year post-graduate diploma in Sports Medicine offered by the National Institute of Sports, recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Also, you have to undergo a training program in rehabilitation, exercise physiology, and orthopedics. In India, such facilities of education in sports medicine are quite restricted. For a truly interested student, going abroad for this course is beneficial.

Food Science deals with the research of food material, how to improve productivity and quality, minimize pollution of food, and increase the nutritional value of it. Food scientists have become essential to all economies with decreasing production, and an increase in the use of pesticides. There is scope in both government departments and private industries, in food-producing and processing companies.
