They had to write their answer in a punch code and after that the mechanical teacher calculated the marks.

    Ans:

Margie had been given several tests in geography which was taken by the mechanical teacher but there was no progression in her performance. Marks went from bad to the worst. This is the reason that Margie’s mother sent the country inspector to find out the reason because of which this was happening.

    Ans:

The country inspector gave an apple to Margie and initiated his working on the mechanical teacher. Margie expected that the inspector would not know how to put the mechanical teacher together again but somehow he managed to reassemble it by his own efforts. Then he slowed down the geography sector of the mechanical teacher because he was geared a little too fast for an average ten-year-old student.

Margie and tommy had mechanical teachers. They had big black screens on which all the lessons were shown and question were being asked. They had a time slot in which students had to put their homework and test papers and also had to write their answer in a punch code and the mechanical teacher calculated the marks immediately. Margie’s school was right next to her bedroom in her home. The mechanical teacher always turned on at the same time every expert Saturdays and Sundays because her mother said that little girls learned better when they learned at regular interval of days and hours.

Q2 Why did Margie hate school? Why did she think the old kind of school must have been fun?
    Ans:

Margie didn't like the school at all because although the lessons were taught through technical devices but they had to write all the homework and assignments on the paper and had to put them in a slot. She had been doing worse in the geography's subject tests that her mechanical teacher had been giving her. The part that she hated the most was doing the homework and tests papers in the slot of the mechanical teacher. She thought that the earlier time's school was a unique place where children came and studied together. They also used to travel together which would be fun and exciting.

Q3 Do you agree with Margie that schools today are more fun than the school in the story? Give reasons for your answer.
    Ans:

Yes, I agree to the facts that schools of today are more fun than the school are represented in the story. In the story, there is no interaction among the students. Doing homework without anybody’s help and writing them in a punch code seems to be a very boring idea. Moreover, children required a healthier way of learning to develop an understanding about each other listening to teachers explaining lesson is always more fun than reading the entire lesson on a mechanical computer. Also, if any student faces any type of problem he can discuss it with the teacher and to the other kids also. It is impossible to discuss problems and situations with a mechanical teacher which is only programmed to teach in a particular manner.
