Reticulate venation is found in dicot leaves while in monocot leaves venation is of parallel type. Mention one exception to this generalization.
Distribution patterns of the vein and veinlets in the lamina of a leaf s called venation. It is of two types: Reticulate and Parallel. Reticulate venation: in this veinlets are irregularly distributed to form a network and this type of venation is the characteristic feature of dicotyledons. Parallel venation: in this the veins run parallel to each other and network is not formed and this type of venation is the characteristic feature of monocotyledons. But here are some exceptions to this Generalization.
Smilax and Alocasia etc. are monocot having reticulate venation.
Calophyllum and Corymbium are dicots having parallel venation.
